What We Believe

Statement of Faith

From eternity, God exists as the One True and Living God in three persons of one substance: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; equal in power and glory. God is perfect in holiness, wisdom, goodness, justice, power, and love.

Biblical Sources:

From His throne, through His Son, His eternal Word, God created, upholds and governs all that exists: Heaven, Earth, the universe, and every living thing.

Biblical Sources:

God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world as a sacrifice for us. Jesus is fully God and fully man in one person, and coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life, died, and was buried. He rose from the dead after three days, demonstrating his power over sin and death. On the cross He took God's judgment for sin that we deserved. Through His death and resurrection, we can receive forgiveness of sins and new life. He ascended to Heaven and is ruling at the right hand of the Father.

Biblical Sources:

The Holy Spirit was poured out on the Church at Pentecost in power, baptizing believers into the Body of Christ and releasing spiritual gifts to them. He is the permanent indwelling presence of God to believers for sanctification, building the Church, spiritual gifts, and empowerment.

The Holy Spirit is still working today in all biblical gifts of the Spirit. We practice the laying on of hands for empowerment of the Holy Spirit, healing, and for recognition of those whom God has ordained to lead and serve the Church.

Biblical Sources:

God made men and women in His image (imago dei) for relationship with Himself, relationship with each other, and to govern the earth. Adam and Eve sinned against God and all creation now experiences the consequences and effects of sin.

Biblical Sources

There is one holy, universal Church. All who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the living Body of Christ, of which He is the head and we are all members.

Biblical Sources:

The Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of the Bible. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is without error. The Bible is our final and absolute authority, and is the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Biblical Sources:

Jesus Christ gave two ordinances to the Church: water baptism and communion. Water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you're a follower of Jesus, you're beginning a changed life in Christ, and you're part of a new family. Communion is a time of remembering Christ's sacrifice for us on the cross. The bread and wine represent His Body and Blood. Every time we take communion, we proclaim Christ's death for us until He returns. Both are available to all believers and should be practiced.

Biblical Sources:

Jesus Christ will return to Earth as King in a glorious, visible, and triumphant appearing. He will bring about the final defeat of Satan and the kingdom of darkness. There will be the resurrection of the dead and the final judgment. God's Kingdom will be fulfilled in the new heavens and the new earth, recreated by His mighty power, where righteousness dwells and God is forever worshiped.

Core Values

While we hold to common Christian beliefs, these core values are the driving force behind our impact and ministry.

Holy Spirit Partnership

We're not simply "doing church" or trying to accomplish things through human effort. This involves partnership with a Person beyond ourselves—the Holy Spirit.

We pray and receive power from God to accomplish what we could never accomplish on our own.

We pray for the sick, confront injustice, and seek to hear God's voice on behalf of others.

Experience and Worship God

The kingdom of God isn't a geo-political territory, nor is it the people of God. The kingdom of God is a dynamic realm.

When one enters the kingdom, they experience the reality of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

This means that the experience of the kingdom of God is central to our faith, spiritual formation, and Christian life.

Compassionate Ministry

We minister to the poor and outcast with the compassion of Jesus, giving away His love and grace to those who need it most.

Ministry in Jesus’ name should be expressed in practical ways through the local church, like serving the poor as if we're serving Jesus Himself.

This is a distinguishing characteristic of a church expressing the love of Christ in a local community.

Relevant and Missional

The Church exists for the sake of those far from God. We're called to bring Jesus' message to every part creation, translating and making it accessible to all.

We promote a creative and innovative approach to ministry, faithful to Jesus and an expression of His heart to reach those far from God.

We're ready to “become all things to all people” to see many come to Christ.

Reconciliation for All

Jesus is reconciling humanity to God, each other, and the entire creation. He breaks down divisions between ethnicity,  race, and more.

We are committed to becoming healing communities engaged in the work of reconciliation wherever sin and evil reign.

We seek to be diverse communities of hope that realize the power of the cross to reconcile what's been separated by sin.
